# Help and troubleshooting

> What to do when access, searches or your assistant connection do not work.

## I cannot sign in

Datalayer is in private preview. Use the email address approved for your account.
A link to the docs or installation guide does not provide access on its own.

## My assistant connects, but cannot find data

A connection and a profile allowance are separate things. Sign in to the
[dashboard](https://app.datalayer.so) and check your account and available profiles.
You need an active allowance even for searches.

## A search is slow or fails

Try a more specific company name or a narrower people search. Wait before trying
again, especially if the message says too many requests. Avoid asking for a large
batch while a smaller request is still failing.

## The company or person looks wrong

Names are not unique. Ask your assistant to show possible matches first. Check
the company website or the person's public LinkedIn address before opening a profile.

## Some details are missing or outdated

Available information varies. Missing data does not mean a company has no
employees or a person has no experience. Ask the assistant to mark unknown details
clearly and verify important information independently.

## I disconnected my assistant and cannot reconnect

This is a known issue being investigated. Contact support instead of repeatedly
disconnecting and reinstalling the integration.

## Contact support

Open **Support** in your [Datalayer dashboard](https://app.datalayer.so). Tell us:

* Which app you are using.
* What you were trying to do.
* The approximate time and error message, with private information removed.

Do not send passwords, API keys or private person records. Replies appear in the
dashboard; support email notifications are not available yet.
